Thanks BL1, I only have one bioball in my system, and I removed it today during my weekly water change. I am hoping since it was just the one it will not cause much of a disturbance in the system. Thanks everyone for the advice!

Here is a better pic everyone, my camera dried out from the water! YAY!!! He is on my thumb so you can get a better idea of his size. I just cant get over how symmetrical he is for an asterina.

Thanks guys, do you think it's anything to be concerned about or should I leave him be? I know there is alot of debate out there about Asterina's, what are your opinions on them?

Hello again all, I found this guy on a rock today I have looked up pics of starfish before as I had an asterina but this guy looks different, he is a rusty red color in the center and gets tan-ish towards the edges of his legs. is there anyone who has not had a problem with camel shrimp and their corals?

oh i know! lol it just came up while I was googe-ing and it says that camels are generally reef safe, I don't believe it I just thought it was amusing :lol:

BTW I love how petco and the like lists them as "generally reef safe". :shock:

Well when I bought them they didn't know what they were they just sold them to me for the price of camel shrimp, so that's why I was wondering about them maybe being different, i originally thought they were some type of cleaner or peppermint, but with that hump I'm thinking they are in fact...

Ok another question.... If these are in fact camel back shrimp (which of course are known to bother corals) if there is ample food for them do you guys think they will still bother the corals or is kind of a dont know until you try kinda thing? I have some zoas and mushroom and 2 purple death...

The thing that throws me off though is that the ones I got have spots as opposed to strips.... hmmmm....

ok Ill check out some peppermint shrimp variations maybe? I'll google and see what pops up! ill let you know if I get a definitive ID.
