    Closed Button Polyps

No the Nitrates are not 100. My test kit goes from 0.0 to 5.0 and it,s just a touch darker than the 0.0 mark. Really you could say it's zero Nitrates. There's nothing wrong with the chemistry of my water. Water temperature is at 78 degrees. My stocking is as follows. Fish - 4 Damsels 8...

    Closed Button Polyps

My button polyps have been closed for about two months now and I'm not sure what's going on. I noticed the other night after the lights where out that some of them opened up. Is it normal for these corals to only open up at night?

    Adding air to salt water?

No it does have a power head to move the water around but I only change about 20 percent of the aquarium water ever two weeks so it does sit for a while. So no air you say, thanks.

    Adding air to salt water?

I'm wondering if it would beneficial to add an air stone to the large pale that I'm mixing my salt water in? Sometimes my water can sit for a week or two with just a heater and power pump. What are your thoughts on this? David

    Need Help with Algae

At this point I would hate to dismantle my live rock in order to clean off the hair algae. I'll try cutting back on the lighting time a little bit, sucking out as much of the algae I can during frequent water changes and get my skimmer operating. Hopefully after a week or two I'll see some...
