    New fish.

My book says "The two species can be distinguished by differences in their anal fins. In H. diphreutes, the rearmost black stripe extends to the tip of the anal fin, whereas in H. acuminatus the black stripe does not reach the tip of the fin, which is white." Hope that helps. :)

    New fish.

I was just asking about the number of fish in my tank. I have 3 very small fish now and if I add the two wimple fish, would that be too much fish or right about what I would need to stock at?

    New fish.

Oh, and its known as the "poor mans Idol" is probably why you got the moorish idol results in your search.

    New fish.

Try this name heniochus diphreutes. Its not a moorish idol. Although it would be freakin' awesome to have one of those fish, I didn't pick this hobby up yesterday. :) There is a bannerfish called a threadfin bannerfish that is VERY similar to the wimple fish and is not reef safe. My book says...

    New fish.

I have a 75 gallon tank. I currently have 2 green chromis and one strawberry dottyback. My wife REALLY wants a couple of wimple fish. Do you guys think that would be fine if I don't plan to add anymore fish afterwards?

    Another critter?

My best bet would be brittlestar but multiple animals. I liked Chuck's idea to coax it out.

    video of a new tentacle

Eventually, they will start coming out of the rock every time you feed your fish. I have about 300 of those things in my tank. Needless to say, I wear gloves when handling my rock.

    video of a new tentacle

Looks like a large bristle worm to me. As long as it isn't bright red, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Any ideas on this one?

I do have a grill, but I really don't want to boil something like that on my grill if it can give off toxic fumes and such. That is a good idea about just adding already boiled water to it though. That may be the route that I go with.

    Any ideas on this one?

Is my only other option to leave it outside for a month. I cant boil it outside. I live in city limits and cant build a fire.

Here is another one for ID.

Its really hard to tell but it looks like it is sort of stiff. I know its hard to tell in the pic, but it is only about .5" tall if even that. To me it definately looks like some sort of coral.

Here is another one for ID.

Its the white branchy thing in the middle of the pic. These were the best pics that I could get of it. Hopefully something cool. I am tired of pests. I have apstasia, hydroids, and pest starfish. No whammy, no whammy, no whammy.

    75g Reef Start

It was four chromis. One of them died the other day. Not sure what happened there. The rest seem to be doing fine. I also have one Strawberry Dottyback. I thought I would give one a try in a 75. I am going to get a couple more chromis though.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll start picking them off of the rock with some twezzas..

    Any ideas on this one?

I have had them on the rock for about 7 or 8 months. They haven't seemed to have done anything like spread like wildfire or anything like that. Should I do something about them or just leave them be for now since they don't seem to be bothering anything?

    Any ideas on this one?

http://www.elasmodiver.com/BCMarinelife/images/Zoanthids.jpg They look a LOT like these, only they are a dark green and very small. When I googled images of hydroids, this was the closest pic that looked like mine.
