    Coral beauty died :(

By that I mean that it looks like zero, but it is hard to tell by reading the colors. Its like it goes from yellow green to lime green... really difficult to read. I will wait a while before putting anymore fish in though, in case it does need more time to cycle.

    Coral beauty died :(

Yeah, my tank was properly cycled. I'll clean the filters more often, thanks. I will be getting a protein skimmer soon.

    Coral beauty died :(

I didn't feed her algae sheets, I fed her frozen cubes of stuff that said they were meant for angel fish. There is plenty of algae in my tank though, so I doubt she was short on that Thanks.

    Coral beauty died :(

I would think it would be pretty stressful for them for me to switch out their substrate... there wasn't any spike in nitrates, I checked them, if anything they've went down. The tank is only about a month old, I've changed the filters once.

    Coral beauty died :(

I had my coral beauty angelfish for one week (and one day) before she died suddenly on Saturday. Since I am completely new to saltwater aquariums, I thought maybe you guys could offer some insight. I'm obviously pretty sad about this (she was such a beautiful fish!) and I don't want to go...

    Boxfish

Oh yep, I've been reading all about puffer fish dentistry. Scary stuff! Deffo gonna make sure its beak doesn't get too long.

    Boxfish

I don't really care if they eat crabs, shrimps, or snails to be honest, I'm not really big on those in the first place. I've been reading about them and I think they would probably be a good choice :) I really like the blue dot puffer, or the valenti puffer, or maybe the green spotted puffer...

    Which Goby?

I have a pink spotted goby. I think he's wonderful. I don't have sand, I have like crushed coral at the bottom, and he's always digging little ditches in it and tunnels under the rocks for himself. He is still pretty shy but when he does come out I see him eating up stuff in the sand...

    Boxfish

Thank you for the kind words, I know what you mean about people doing that sort of thing, I've seen it happen all too often on other animal forums. Honestly though, it just seems like it should be common sense, if you're going to take care of a living creature you should learn how to do it...

    Boxfish

I am avoiding the impulse buys, which is why I'm here right now, asking questions before I buy a fish. I don't have a clean up crew as of yet... so I'm not worried about them getting eaten.

I do like him :) Thanks for that suggestion.

    Boxfish

Nope, I don't have it yet. Thanks for all your replies guys! I suppose it makes sense that they wouldn't inform me of the risks, but this guy has always been really helpful, and will usually warn me if I shouldn't do something. I didn't know about the lower salinity levels though...

    Boxfish

Yeah, I was afraid that's what you guys would say :( Have any of you had any real life experience with them though? The LFS guy said they are quite popular, which seems strange considering their risk factor. The one that's there right now has been there over a month with a bunch of other fish.

    Boxfish

My partner and I spotted a boxfish at the fish store recently, and we fell in love. So, of course, I've been researching them like mad. I've read that they release a toxin when stressed, or dead, and this can wipe out your entire tank. Yikes! I was wondering if anyone has any experience...

    Mango lobster?

Well, its likely I wouldn't get it anyways as its like a 50 minute drive to that person. I just thought it was interesting looking. and thank you for the welcomes everyone!

    Mango lobster?

Thanks! You're probably right about that, judging from the gravel? But still, kinda curious what it is.

    Mango lobster?

Hello, new here! Sorry for the randomness, but I need to ask something to people who know something about fish stuff. I'm super new at saltwater fish. Anyways, there's this listing on craigslist for an orange "mango" lobster. I don't know wtf it is, I've never heard of an orange...
