What are u using for mechanical when the water reaches the filter? and I wouldn't have the water enter where the skimmer is. The water crashing in changes the surface tension of the water and will effect the performance of the skimmer

Then your rock counts as well and that would limit what else goes in the tank. Fish are the big poop factor as that's what you feed, the other stuff can shelf sustain on whats in the tank after its established... 2 different kinds of food and poop

check all you equip and find if something is not working right. Basic rule that the tank will run 10 deg either way of what the ambient temp is so if your room is 80 than the tank running at 90 is totally possible. Check your stuff, limit your lights and increase you evaporation

Try some new stuff and switch the lights to run when the tank is off and a couple hrs before and after the lights go on or off...

better to always try to fully submerge your heater, maybe try a smaller one that will fit the space you have.

Crabs and snails are free bees and dont count towards your bio load. I wouldnt worry about anything other than the crabs taking the snails shells as they get larger. Try to stay with only blue leg or scarlets for the friendly factor and conch's are great as long as they dont get too big.

They're alot like people and dont always fall in to the spec norm that we are use to. I'd say he's a keeper and good for parties...
