180g lighting

I am building a canopy for my 180g tank. Its 6 long 2' tall 2' deep. I have not decided to keep it FOLR or go and make it a reef tank. How much lighting will I need for a FOLR? I was thinking maybe 2 250 MH and a reef maybe doing 3 and some of the acentic (if thats spelled correctly). THoughts?

I think that would be fine, those two MH lamps with some T5s will be enough light. You may have an easier time finding 6' fixtures with 3 MH lamps instead of 2.

If youre into DIY, that would be cheaper. Go for it if youre up to it.

Go LED. They are so much better than anything else.

With the LED route, I thibk Dennis had Radion fixtures over his 130.

I have the AI Sols, they aren't cheap, but they are amazing lights and from what I have heard, will grow anything under the sun. You would probably need 4 for your tank.
