55 gallon reef powerhead Q

I currently run the Koralia Evolution 1050 in my 55 gallon reef. Do u think I should add another one or more, or leave it how it is with just one?

Should I also put them on a wave maker to have random flow everywhere?

and my last question is,
How should I place my power heads so I have no dead spots without causing a sand storm?

Im trying to get good flow without making the fish unhappy and corals as well. Im still trying to add coral and as of right now I only have a decent size GSP and so zonathids.

You probably could add another powerhead. As long as you're not kicking up your sand bed then your good with flow. One should be pointed to the top so it's rippling the water and giving you some gas exchange and the other you can point across the tank blowing across the rocks

sweet, thanks.. im pretty much new to all of this so i'm trying to learn as much as I can. I just dont want to start a sand storm. lol that wouldnt be good at all

As long as there's no sand storm your good. I've got 3 powerheads running in my 28g

In a 55, you should have at least two powerheads. Two of those Koralias would be fine. :)

I agree with everyone.It does seem like you could use another K evo.

They are wavemaker friendly so why not add one.I like the Reef Fanatic wavemaker because they are cheap,reliable and have many options for flow.
