A really unlucky hermit crab

I dropped a hermit crab in my mantis shrimp's tank about 30min before I started recording. He kept beating it and carrying it around. Right before the video starts, he started burying the hermit crab.

These guys sure are smart. Enjoy! Wtatch in HD and turn the volume down for the first 5 seconds, I got a text msg.

That must be the spot where he buries the bodies - look at all of the empty shells around there LOL

Oh you don't know the half of it.
In his main burrow, he has around 15 shells stacked around the entrances. Then in his other favorite tube he has about 10 all around it, then a bunch under the sand. This spot that I recorded him at has become one of his new favorite "kill spots" to take his prey. He piles the empty shells on the sides near the rocks, then buries his dinner in the corner
