Adding light with CFL coils?

Could I use cfl coils to add some extra light for my two corals?
I'm running a coralife aqualight t5 fixture. I was going to add two clamp lights with 26watt CFL bulbs, 6500k.

I dont think that is going to help your corals much, i dont think CFL bulbs will put out enough useful wavelength for coral growth

thanks for all the suggestions, this is an efficient method of research. anyone know if I can buy an electric fan to add to my coralife fixture. it has two ports but only one fan. sounds dumb to me.

Open up the fixture. See what voltage it is running. If it is 12v DC, you could probably find one the right size at a computer store.

Warning!!!!!

Opening your fixture will most likely void any warranty and ALWAYS unplug the fixture before you work on it.

What corals do you have and what lights do you currently have? No squiggly twist bulbs will work to light corals (that I know of). All you are going to do is promote a huge algae outbreak.
