Adding sand

I have been wanting to add more sand to my display as it is only about an 1" or so. I bought 15 Lbs of CaribSea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand. After a water change yesterday I rinsed about 1/2 of it in RODI water and lowered to the bottom with a cup. The little cloudyness I had was gone in about an hour. Anyways, I only covered maybe half of the bottom which is what I had planned. How many days/weeks should I wait to add the rest on the other half? I have a 90 gallon DT with about 200 Lbs of live rock, give or take between the dt and the fuge. I have had the tank setup since September 2012.

I'd give it about a week before adding the rest...that way you'll give the sand time to re-populate the good bacteria.

A few days is probably sufficient but I have always waited a week just in case.

I always took closer to 3 weeks when adding new sand.

Thanks for all your advice. I will probably wait 2-3 weeks just to be safe.
