Can someone please advise me?

I'm the poor sap who got suckered and fried a snail without allowing a pure cycle.

So I'm now asking advice before I try again.

I have seen a level of nitrite and ano hold 0, I have seen readings on Nitrate, and now read 0, but I'm still reading about 5 on my Ammonia, does anyone have a suggestion of something to reduce Ammon, or should I try to cycle again?

If you have a reading of ammonia it means your cycle has started!

So just keep watching your levels and when see both the ammonia and nitrites spike and then go to zero and see a rise in the nitrates your cycle is complete!

If you are worried about your cycle not starting properly toss in a piece of table shrimp and let it rot for a couple of days!

Had a small spike not too long ago and I used an ammonia neutralizer. It helped a lot.
