Any tryed this kind of lighting?

Has any one tryed useing hologen light like something you would use in your garage or to use when really trying to light up a room to paint? I was just woundering i know there hot but so are metal hilides has any one tryed this?

Halogens don't put out the correct wavelength of light for corals to use, and they run way hotter than metal halides.

I have seen several posts on other sites of people trying to go that route and it didnt work. I am a cheap reefer if I cant make it or rig it it had better be cheap cause the kids and wife like to eat. If you are looking for a cheap alternative try aquatraders I bought from them and have been happy so far. They are a Chinese knock of brand and the quality isnt the greatest but if you can tinker a little then it is a good way to go. no problem thats what everyone is here for. I actually researched it because the cost of those light are so cheap. It looked so promising but unfortunately a no go.
