API test kit?

I have the API liquid test kit.

I just tested my water and got and the ammonia after 5 minutes was 0 but after about 10 minutes it was probably 1.0!! Is it normal for it to get darker the longer it sits or should I be concerned?

Follow what the directions say.

If it says read the test after 5 mimutes, then that is the one you look at. If it says to read the test right after the mixing, then go with that one.

Sometimes the reagents in the test need time to react to show the propper level.

Ok thats what I figured. I re-did the test again and even set the timer and its still zero I guess it just gets dark from sitting there.
