Hey, was looking in my tank yesterday and notice something on the glass. Looked a bit closer and realized it was a little star fish. I haven't bought any new corals or rock in a long time, so I'm not 100% sure how it got in there. It looks like a brittle and I did have one in my tank awhile ago. Either way pretty cool.

I have some unexpected stars also, one brittle star was found in the overflow chamber and recovered on a q-tip and I have seen star looking bodies without legs but they are 6 not 5 segmented. With eggs coming out of my rock no telling what is going to hatch next. ")

the starfish looking thing in that pic is a asterina starfish, some say they are not a problem but I try to remove them as I see them ( they multiply quickly) they are known to eat coraline algae.. harlequin shrimp eat them but when they are done cleaning them out you need to feed the shrimp..
