Battery Backup

I posted a thread earlier, but can't seem to find it so sorry to keep re-posting about the same subject, but here goes...With recent hurricane Sandy I was worried about loss of power. We survived with only losing power a couple of times for no more than an hour each time.

I was wondering what others are using for battery backup. I'm not interested in getting a generator. I was thinking about something like this Buy.com - Duracell 852-0307 300-Watt Powerpack 300 Power Inverter and Jump Start System

or using a deep cell battery and a power inverter.

I appreciate any feedback.

I have a Powerpack, can charge it in the car, has an inverter built on to it, can also jumpstart your car, and has 4 outlets on it. Can run my return for at least two days.
