ok so i have a mainland penguin filter the ones with the bio wheel are they bad should i remove the wheel..buying a new filter is not going to happen right now

IMO, that filter is a good filter and should serve you well for awhile.What series is it?I would also add more LR,it is great natural filtration

That size may be abit under sized,depending on your stock.....
A 350 or 400 would be great,but again it depends alot on the fish you have too
