biocube 14 questions

I resently purchased an intake media basket, works great just a little flow issues. The design idea is there but not 100% of flow goes through it. My concern is that the bad bacteria may bypass it and return to tank. Does anyone else have this problem or should i be concerned with some flow bypassing?

I'm not sure what non-beneficial bacteria you are referring to. Filter media doesn't remove bacteria and we don't run filters to remove bacteria in our tank. In cases where your fish have a bacterial disease, you use medication to treat the infection, not a filter.

Any filter you have is not going to get 100% of the water flowing through it. But the idea is if the turnover is high enough, you will get the tank's volume cycling through it eventually. Flow bypassing is not a problem as long as the majority of water is getting through it.
