Biting Candy Cane?

Well , clowns are wierd, but now mine took it to a whole nother level, he started biting the hammer corals tentacles, but now that the female has hosted that he wants to start biting my candy cane, but after he does it, he looks like stunned, and just lays on the rock motionless moving his eyes, then 3 seconds later, he starts the whole process over luike a freaking idiot.
Now his jawline looks messed, i dont think he can close his mouth properly, should i block off the candy cane?

I could be way off here, but don't clowns build up their immunity to anemone's sting by eating a bit of them? Perhaps he is building up immunity to the hammer in order to begin hosting it?
