Black substrate

Hello everyone. So I have a 125g tank and I just set it up last week I put some aragonite sand as my substrate but I was wondering if I could lay a layer of live black sand on top to give the substrate some accent color? Anybody have any suggestions if to do it or not.

I've seen a few tanks that have black and white sand. Eventually with the sand being blown around, it will all get mixed, but should make for a neat effect if you put enough black sand in.

Thank you that's what I was thinking that would happen but I want that cool effect over time
