I got a 55 gallon tank. I have a spare 10 gallon that i want to make a sump out of. I need help on knowing what to get to start it out.

Any Ideas?

A basic sump has 3 sections, with plexiglass from the hardware store siliconed in as the dividers. The first section, where water enters, is generally where people keep their heater and protein skimmer. The second section is usually a refugium with live rock rubble and macroalgae, and the third section is where your return pump goes. Since a 10 gallon tank is small, you may not want to do all three sections, but that's up to you. That video is a good start to get you headed in the right direction.

I am using a ten gallon sump with no dividers in it, but it's a pain. I do not like the open sump. I will add a baffle or two soon. Good luck with yours.
