Aloha!

I just did my calcium test today after seeing some much wanted coraline starting to grow on some of my rocks! :D (at least i think its coraline, its reddish/purple and hard) so i thought I would see what my calcium level was and my test kit said 520! is that too high? D: My mushrooms look great and have seem to have grown... could this be from that? do shrooms even need calcium to grow?! LOL.

I just wanna make sure its not too high

That is a bit high, but I should hurt anything. Is it a new or old test kit? Ideal calcium is around 420-450 range. It could be the salt you're using. Some are high in calcium and other elements.

Wow...I need typing lessons. I meant to say it shouldn't hurt.

Also, I'm not familiar with seachem's salt. I'm sure someone on here will know more about it.

Which SeaChem salt are you using? The "Marine" salt usually runs around 500 ppm calcium and the "Reef" salt is around 540 ppm calcium. Your right around where you should be.

Oh, and mushrooms or any other soft coral don't use or need calcium.
