Yes, can't you move the bulbs with the wiring, or do they make the wiring only so long?

Opening the fixture will void any warranty. Also, they are most likely just long enough to reach. That is just the nature of mass produced products. You can always rewire it, but might not be worth it.

I have noticed with my fixture blues are in the back, and Coraline growth is more on the back sides and back of the tank. :-D

Id rather have the coraline grow on the back rather than the front and sides. That means i dont have to scrape it off as much. I'm not too concerned with how the bulbs are placed. As long as it still does its job and makes my corals healthy I'm happy.
