setting up my 150 gal tank running a chiller with a heater. do i need to have a heater else where in my tank setup

Ha Ha Thats Funny!
Some people use two heaters either to get the proper watts, or redundency, in case one fails. I think you should have a back up heater just in case, depending on the weather outside where you live.

i live in Kansas 100 degrees one day 32 the next. during summer my temp changes around 10 degrees on my 55 gal but I'm not spending the amount of money they want for chillers on that small of a tank plus i plan on turning that in to a sump for my 150

If the chiller has its own controller,then I dont think you'll need another heater.
