my baby clam has attached himself to my frag rack and by accident i kinda ripped some of his thread I didn't think he would have done this so quickly, will he be ok?

I'm sorry to say, but he's pretty much a goner. That's how mine died, from a tear to the foot...sorry!

This happened to me when I first got my clam and he's perfectly fine (that was like 3 months ago). But I just tore one little strand of meat on the foot so it probably depends on how much damage you did.

You mean that little tube that hangs out of the bottom of the clam? I thought that was their pooper tuber.....I keep mine on the sand.

most of the time if you rip that foot when they attach they are gonna die.. cross your fingers..

Usually a torn foot is difficult for them to recover from.

I think it`s calld a byssal cord or something like that. I`ve heard once it gets ripped then it`s hard to recover.

I didnt tear the tube just the strand
