Recently I was in the market for a nice Zoa colony and came across this one at my LFS. I was drawn to it because it had a number of different colour types on the same stone, so some nice variety... looks pretty b.a. under the right light. However, once it had fully adjusted to the tank I noticed something that resembles a small group of star polyps on the underside of the rock, are a deep purple I don’t believe it’s a nem. Refer to the shot below, in the red square.


Ideas?

Can't tell for certain, but either Aptaisia, or Majano. Both are pests and should be killed off to prevent them from taking over.

+1 on the pest anemone.

Aptaisia no dout in my mind kill it and throw some peppermint in to eat the spores
