looks like a feather duster to me, but what its doing in the middle of a torch coral is odd.

That looks more like a barnicle to me. I had one of those on 1 of my torch heads. It just grew & grew until it killed the torch head. I'd get rid of it before it grows too big & kills that head. Wish I knew then, What I know now.

I've got feather dusters growing in the middle of my corals.
