Reefing newb
:grumble:14 gallon bicube setup, 15 lbs live rock, 2 fish. i have a 24 watt actinic and 24 watt 10k flourecent bulb (power compacts). tanks been going for about 4 months now. i added my first piece of coral to the tank about one week ago. its some kind of mushroom coral. it has yet to come out. is this normal when corals are moved from tank to tank? is it dead or dying? any info would be great! thanks!

I don't think its dieing,it sometimes takes awhile for corals to adjust to your water conditions and lighting. If the mushrooms only look shriveled up.thats ok,you only need to worry if they look like they are melting.Mushrooms are typically very hardy, give it some more time.

Good luck

Yeah, if they are dying they start to get slimy. Watch out for that. Otherwise give them some time. It's pretty hard to kill a mushroom.

When you got it from the LFS,was it in kinda shady area or right out in full light?Ive had mushrooms that just wouldnt open if they were getting more light than their used to.
