My lfs owner said he bought it as a favia but when it got to the store it looks like a doughnut coral to him. Which one is it?

I would say it's probably a donut coral then. The polyps of favia are usually much smaller than a quarter.
It could also be an acan, though!

Looks more like an Acan to me.

Looks like head of a trumped coral glued down really close to the head base to me.
