coralife protein skimmer issue

So here is the issue, I shut my skimmer off to treat for red algae. Directions say leave off for 48 hours then do water change. So turned it on seems to be working fine, but when the skimmed water comes out its cloudy. I took skimmer out and cleaned it and same problem. What is going on anybody know?

Its thered algea treatment. Its still in the water. When i did this my skimmer would do the same and also overflow really quick. I just left mine on to airate my water and it finally wrnt back to working like it should after anout 3 more water changes.

I had a huge microbubble issue with my coralife skimmer. I bought a sock some activated carbon and a couple polishing pads. I put the carbon and polishing pads inside the sock and ran it, along with some water changes and after a few days it was back to normal.
