coraline?

Reefing newb
hey all...do you guya know if this is coraline algae or something else.

Doesn't look thick or reddish enough to be coraline. It is also covering the rock completely where it is.

I vote cyano red slime.
 
find the source of the algae.....it looks line cyanobacteria to me too.....check your water quality, especially the phosphates, and nitrates.....when i had an outbreak of that algae, i did multiple smaller water changes more frequently.....i also syphoned all of the algae that i could get to....i think that use of medication is only a band-aid.....that only gets rid of the problem temporarily.....also check your water flow in that certain area for any dead spots.....lights could also come into play.... check to see how old your lights are, including your UV sterilizer (if you are running one).....sorry for the way too long response, but i've had some experience with this crap.....you could be in for a long process to get rid of it, but it will go away with the right treatment.....hope this helps
