well really stable water and good lighting but here is a tip to make it spread a lot faster.
get a rock with a good amount of coralline on it and get some tank water and chip off the stuff untell you get a good amount and dump it back in the tank. it will land and seed on the rock and make it spread soooo fast. that is what i did 6 mouths ago and now my rocks look trippy lol

+1 blue. I used 10lbs of LR in my DT and used 60lbs of dry rock. The dry rock was white as can be. I scraped off bits and pieces every week and let if flow in the tank to seed everything else. I did also dose Purple Up once a week. Just make sure you keep an eye on your levels!M

Nope. Purple up is only calcium and finely ground sand particles. Unless you have coralline already, it won't start it growing. Most people don't think it makes any difference, but some swear by it.

Coralline does seem to grow faster in tanks that have more "blue" light
