Cycle and Lighting

Do you need lights to start the tank cycle? I wanna get this thing going but dont wanna wait for my lights to come in.... I will have them eventually but wanna get the cycle started if i am able..

She didnt get home in time, have to wait till tommorrow.. Its ok, I called him and hes gonna get 150-160lbs ready for me... plus my LS and trying to figure out the logistics of getting 150 gallons of saltwater 14 miles in only 1 trip... Trashcans maybe? i wanna use real ocean water, dont wanna mix it myself..

well a gallon of water weighs 8 lbs so good luck with your one trip lol
that means a 5 gallon jug is 40 lbs!
150 x 8 is 1200 lbs so that should be fun, good luck!

Maybe I will have em just deliver it, they can fill 200 gallons in about 2 min... $100 though... $52 dollars if i transport it myself, but then theres gas... Hmmmm....

gas isn't that much though. if your car gets even 20 miles to the gallon it's gunna cost you like $4

but transporting it in one trip may make the delivery cost worth it

Actually,salt water weighs in close to 9 pounds per gallon.
