Cycling ?

So my tank has been running a while to cycle. i finally found a saltwater API test kit and i tested today ammo=0 nitrites=0 nitrates=10ppm. does this mean my tank is finally cycled? i am more familiar with freshwater so just wanted to make sure.

It's very possible, did you use live rock? how long has your tank been cycling? If you want to test it, you can try dropping a piece of raw shrimp in there and see if it spikes any of your levels.

I don't have much to say on top of what BL1 just said. Did you already experience a diatom bloom in your tank?

yes i used live rock and i kept them in water in transport and it was only out of the original tank for no more than 10 mins.

btw its been running for a little under 2 weeks. and i have 2 damsels in there now.

I'd like to know about this too lol. I'm in an identical situation with my "new" tank using my old rock. Hit the diatom bloom a few days ago and all i'm reading now is nitrates.

You probably already had your cycle, keep your eyes on it though because you may see a spike after adding those damsels.

its not on my live sand but i have a lot of current in my tank.
