Apr 9, 2011 #2 Sir Alex Dragon the eel (below) If he's only 1" long and you have lots of crabs and scavengers then they'd probably eat it before there's a spike in the nitrates. If I put any meat in my tank, then my chocolate chip sea star is on the move in seconds.

Apr 10, 2011 #4 little_fish Moderator It is always a good idea to try and figure out why your fish died though. Did you cycle your tank with that fish or did you add him afterwards?
