'dead' live rock?

I'm looking at buying a bunch of old rock an ex-hobbyist is selling. He took it all out of his tank over two years ago, and its been sitting dry in storage. Wrapped in paper in boxes.
Is there some sort of process I'd need to go thru before adding some to an established tank?

I would rinse it off if there looks to be any die off. Make sure he never used copper meds in the tank before you buy.

also at this point, there is nothing live on those rocks.

So, if it has been in copper there's nothing you can do to make it useable?

Not anything that you want to do about it. The treatment to get the copper out is worse than the actual copper.
