Despining agressive tangs

Has anyone heard of somone despining agressive tangs so that they do not kill tank mates? I know they sometimes fall off on there own.
Would the losse of spines decrease agression?

I have heard of the scalpel being trimmed for shipping so they didn't cut the bag they were in but not total removal. I wouldn't recommend removing the scalpel at all. Trading the aggressive tang in on another is a better option, IMO.

Yeah, I don't think this is something you can ethically do.

The reason why I ask Is I saw a 12 inch naso tang despined and I asked why and they said they did it to reduce agression.

The aggression is still going to be there. Removing the spine would only remove his MEANS to hurt the other fish in the tank, not the reason.

I'm going to liken this to declawing a cat. It seems cruel.
