Diatoms

My tank is 2 years old but i recently switched from the god awful crushed coral to sand. Im dealing with a major diatom outbreak, I have to scrub my glass and move my sand around everyday. Anyone know any way to deal with this crap? Is this bloom because of the new sand?

The removal and addition created a mini-cycle.
Just do what you're doing and it will eventually subside.

Diatoms are the brown dust like algae correct?
