did a 50% water change - nitrates still high ???

hey fellaz

my tank is cycled and ammonia and nitrites are at zero. my nitrates were at 30. i just did a huge 50% water change and they only dropped to about 15. i was expecting them to drop more then that.

is this normal?

If you did a 50% WC, that is exactly what I would expect it to be. You lowered it by half :)

when would it be safe to do another one?

Give it a few days and do a smaller one, say 25%
