Disappearing mushroom

Reefing newb
I put a mushroom in a couple months back. It seemed to be thriving. In fact, just last weekend it replicated make a small offshoot. Pretty cool to watch.

Today, it has totally disappeared. Chemistry seems fine. I have two clownfish and a valentini puffer. None have ever expressed any interest in it.

Any ideas about where it might have gone?

Yep dont worry about it, mine was half eaten by a decorator crab, dragged under a cave for a week, came back out, and started replicating within the week.
Dont sweat it! :D

+1 fish....mushrooms are extremely hardy. I had a cluster that hitchhiked on a rock that survived under a 9 watt flourescent bulb for a year before moving under t5's.

UPDATE:

I was doubtful, but you folks were right. Yesterday my mushroom made a brief appearance. It literally seemed to crawl out from under a rock. Today he is gone again. It's offspring is doing great, growing in size.

I catch the loose ones and stuff them into a hole of a small rock. Usually they stay put. Then I move the rock where I want.
