Distilled water?

They are just different ways to get the same result. It is just that there are home RO units so it is a bit more available. Distilled water is water that has been condensed from a steam so since steam isnt capable of holding impurities, when condensed, it is pure water

Aluminum machinery is generally used to produce distilled water and your might get some high levels of it in the water. Oceanic salt already has high levels of aluminum in it. But I've never heard of anyone having serious problems with aluminum. Isn't it kind of expensive in those 1G jugs at the grocery store?

For the first seven yrs of my reef tank I used distilled for top offs. It`s much better than tap but not as good as RO/DI.

Distilled is fine to use, as far as being better then RO I guess that would depend on the RO system, a 3 stage system will deffinatly not be as good as distilled etc.

You are looking for the least amount of TDS "total disolved solids" its best to be below 5
