Do Ricordia have babies?

I think they do!

My first ricordia I purchased back in late February which has grown substantially and even split once was taking up the entire frag plug. Yesterday I noticed it has moved to the back of the plug and a new ricordia is on the front of the plug!

How cool is that? :D

Nice! They tend to reproduce much slower than other soft corals. Yours look great!

They are vary cool mine tend to do one at a time and the "baby" tends to jump off the disk the parent is on most of the time something gets them on me and there never seen again :(

Should I cut the baby off the disk and give him one of his own?

Yes they have babies. The one we bought 2 days ago at our LFS is doing that. The guy that works there said you're getting a good deal because in a few days to a week the one head on the ricordia will be 2. We paid for one.

I have about 5 or 6 Ricordeas and none have ever done that. I grouped them all together in one are to mix the colors. Rainbow, Blue, Orange, Purple and Orange and Green and Orange.

In my tank they grow super fast. I got a small bright orange one that was less than a frag stone and in one month it is hanging off the frag stone already.

No babies though :grumble:

Oh Thats good to know, I have some green ones, and I have never target fed them, Ive only had them a month, Thanks!:)
