What do you do to dry live rock to be able to add it to your tank?

Dry rock isn't live anymore. Live rock is wet. You don't need to do anything special to dry rock to add it to your tank. Rinsing it off to get rid of the dust would be fine.

Honestly I am not sure what you mean. I haven't added any rock in about about 2 months. When I added the rock, I just kind of placed it in the tank. When I brought the rock from my LFS it was wrapped in a cloth if thats what you mean..

will the dry live rock eventually grow beneficial bacteria ?

Yes it will become live in a few months time. To make it faster get a couple of small live rocks from the fish store or a friend. Even some live rubble will help.

i have about 100lbs now of live rock I was going to add some of the dry to it.
