filter making noise

hello again
Im having a problem with the filter noise after removing the bio balls, I was going to remove a third of them at a time after adding live rock but I dident think about the empty chamber noise. I went ahead and removed all of them because I have quite a bit of rock now and thats a little better. is there something I should put in there? LR?

Thats the same problem I have.So I opted to keep cleaning the bio-balls untill I can get the time to set a sump/fuge.
If you use LR in place of the bio-balls un the drip tray,then your not bettering yourself.

I wedged a little little piece of sponge under the overflow, it helped some. do you think this will cause a problem?

Be sure to clean the sponge out weekly and it shouldnt.

If you can run the water level higher without causing flooding issues than raise it.Put rock rubble in the chamber and make sure its under water.Lay a big chunk of polyester fill on top and replace weekly.
