Filtration

So I've heard several things recently...
I was just going to buy a mechanical filter that would go along with my protein skimmer and PLENTY of movement by my Koralia powerheads.
Someone mentioned that if I have enough live rock, I dont really even need a filter...
Is this true?

P.S. I dont really understand anything about sumps but would be willing to learn about them. :sfish:

If you have around 2 lbs per gallon of Live Rock in your tank then that and a Skimmer are all you really need.
