Hard to say what is up but is most likely waxing off. the spots could be bacteria or algae that tend to attach to slime so it is important for the animal to have currents correctly set that assist in carrying the slime away from the aminal.

SINULARIA FLEXIBLLIS, SINULARIA PROCERA, SINULARIA SANDENSIS.
TLEXIBLE LEATHER CORALS, FINGER LEATHER CORALS (SLIME CORALS.)

- may exceed 3 feet
-indo pacific
-moderate tanks 50 gal or more
-prefer bright illumination
-Zooxanthellate, but these species need microplankton feedings for good growth.
-easy to keep. Very competitive and will poison many other sessile animals with noxious secretions.
-these three species are not distinguishable without microscopic examination of their spicules. The need high currents, surge tanks or turbulent flow is best. White, gray, or various shades of brown. They produce excessive amounts of mucus and need a tank with good skimming and nutrient export. These species are one of several species groups within the genus Sinularia. Many of these species are exceptionally difficult to experts to distinguish. All are specialists in chemical warfare. they are generallly easy to grow and will inhigit or kill most other corals.

what you have going on is a war between your finger coral and your candycane it appears. you need to increase nutrient export. so it appears your corals are doing what nature has designed them to do. could be a bit of candy cane slough off has connected with the one finger and it is reacting by sloughing off also.
