Fish on cover of Drs Catalog

What kind of fish is on the cover of the new catalog? Just received it today

It is a bright red with purple markings around the mouth and very distinct fins. Thinking about adding it to my tank if it would be compatable

that is a fairy wrasse. not sure exactly what sp. (possibly a flasher), but it is a fairy wrasse.

It is called the blue flasher wrasse.

Thanks for leading me in the right direction. Going to have to read up on theese guys some more.

Is it just me or do those flasher wrasses look like freshwater swordfish?

For future reference. The fish that is pictured on the cover, it's name is on the back of the magazine, left hand bottom corner.
