Fuge light, how many hrs per day?

I just set my fuge up this weekend. I have a 40w CFL bulb for lighting. How long should I be leaving the light on? I've ready a few different options such as 24hrs, 12on/12off and 18on/6off.

When the tank lights go off - the fuge lights go on.

When the tank lights come back on in the morning - the fuge lights go off.

Running the fuge light at night helps keep PH more balanced.

My fuge light comes on 1 hour before the tank lights go out at night and goes off when the tank lights come on the next day.

I run my fuge lights 24 hours a day. You should either do this, or run the fuge lights opposite your tank lights.
