Hello,

Last Night I bulid my sump w/ refugium. I used GE Silicone I for Window and Door. It's curing right now. But I can't help asking myself if it's safe. Has anyone used this product before on aquariums?

Thanks,

If it doesn't say aquarium safe on the tube you don't need to use it. The other silicons contain toxins, chemicals, etc. I know some of them have stuff to prevent mildew growth etc.

You can buy Aquarium Safe Silicon at walmart in the fish section for $5 or something like that.

Hello there thanks for all the great info. I read in a few places, that as long as it 100% silicone and not have mildew resistance, it should work. I've also read that companies like GE do not state its aquarium safe because in order to do that they need to run test to make sure it's safe, which is costly. Plus liability issues.
