Getting rid of chromis meh

so i really dont think the fighting is going to stop between the chromis and i dont want to watch one get picked on to death... so i am considering getting rid of both of them because i definitely can not pack more in there to try to even it out. in their place however i think i am going to buy a very small sixline wrasse from one of my lfs'. my main question is should i put him in the day i remove the chromis or should i wait a few days...which would be more of a caution/shock or what ever

I don't think a 10 gallon tank is big enough for a sixline. They need a lot of swimming space. But to answer your question, since that wasn't your question (;)), you can put it in when you remove the other fish. There's no need to wait.
