Green Hair Algae

Hey all,
I believe this to be the start of the dreaded green hair algae. Is this green hair?

I'm thinking pull the rock, scrub in distilled water and return to the tank? Thoughts anybody? Thanks as always,

I had green hair algae, it didnt look like that

Mine was much longer than that, maybe it's not hair algae.

If you do decide to scrub the rock, I would do it in a bucket of tank water, because fresh water may kill things you want to keep on the rock (like bacteria). Easiest to do it when you do a water change.

I have to vote against GHA. Do you have any Turbo snails? They should power through that stuff.

No, I don't have any turbos. I have some asteras and creiths. Obviously the ceriths won't be any help but the asteras just scrubbed that rock a few weeks before. The rock was almost bare. I don't want to add to many snails to my tank as it's only a ten gallon and i'm worried there won't be enough stuff for all them to eat. I currently have 2 asteras 3 creiths 1 scarlet and 1 neon blue hermits. DO you feel that 2 turbos could be added safely? thanks,
